La Mirada and Smythe Elementary Schools I San Ysidro, CA





The modernization projects of La Mirada and Smythe Elementary Schools included classrooms, libraries, multi-purpose rooms, a teachers lounge, accessible restrooms, and exterior improvements along with landscape upgrades.
The overall design provided students with a healthier and more balanced indoor and outdoor learning environment. It included private and collaborative learning stations, flexible furniture configurations to accommodate changing classroom sizes, and enhanced direct connection to the outdoors to provide better daylight, along with quality indoor and air temperature comfort.
The combined building area between the two schools is 65,300 SF and includes eight buildings, parking, and infrastructure for 11 acres.
